‘Boring’ is the new fun

Sensation seeking. As human beings, we feel the constant urge to shock our senses. However, you’ll find that after impulsively booking that pricey holiday or wasting your one day off on a night out, you still feel as though you're missing something. Your day is left unproductive and unaccomplished.  Something quite overlooked in the hustle and bustle of today is mundanity = sanity. After a long day of getting sh*t done, you’ll find that you sleep better; your mind is at ease knowing that you haven't wasted away your day. Growing up means reevaluating your priorities, and if that's considered boring... well… boring is the new fun.


1. Get in touch with your inner self


Take a few minutes out of your day to lock in with the forces that lay beyond your control. Whether that may be speaking to god, recharging your crystals, or simply meditating. Find what works for you. You are never too busy to appreciate what you have. Connecting with your soul on a spiritual level gives you a sense of hope that everyone needs.    


2. Join the hustle


Become one with the working class of today. No one is asking you to be the next Wolf of Wall Street. However, earning your own money and building up to financial stability allows for a broader outlook on the world. Consistent earnings create a routine as it instills the hunger for success within you as well as a drive to look in the mirror and say, ‘ I’ve made it. '


3. Your body is a temple


Your body is the vessel of your mind and soul. The site of your beliefs, values, and morals all compacted into one. Needless to say, we aren't cats; we don't have nine lives. You've only got one chance at this. So put that vape down because the air outside tastes just as good as it is for your body. Sneak a few vegetables in your ramen and do a little exercise. There is only one you, so take care of yourself.  


4. Make time for the girls


A healthy lifestyle is a balanced lifestyle. That doesn't mean becoming a hardcore gym rat who stays indoors and fixates on the grind. Social interactions with the people you love is a great health benefit on its own. A night out means a whole lot of fun and memory-making with your day-ones whilst allowing you to formulate new connections and broaden your friend base. Get your girlies and grab a martini. After a long day of being a boss babe, you deserve it!    


5. Push your boundaries


A routine shouldn’t be a mundane cycle that makes you feel entrapped. It simply gives structure to your life, ensuring personal growth. Make it a goal to try something new every so often. Your talents and abilities are as limitless as the sky, so shoot for the stars. This new change ranges from something as minuscule as trying a new flavor of ice cream all the way to taking that road trip you’ve always dreamed of as a little girl. Step out of your comfort zone and watch how you blossom into the person you hoped to become - you can thank me later.
